After graduating from Milton High School in Alpharetta in 1988, John graduated cum laude from Duke University in 1992 and subsequently attended the University of Georgia School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1995.

Since that time, he has conducted closings and has performed real estate title searches on thousands of residential and commercial parcels.  Having worked initially with the City Attorney for the City of Marietta, and then with a former Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Transportation, he established his own practice, John W. Bell, P.C., in 2001 and has worked extensively with numerous commercial clients as well as cities and counties throughout the state.

Actively serving as a Special Assistant Attorney General, he also works closely with the Georgia Department of Transportation on state projects.

John served as the lead attorney assisting the City of Atlanta’s Law Department with the acquisition of land for the Fifth Runway at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, a project spanning approximately eight years and involving the total acquisition and relocation of entire residential neighborhoods, apartment complexes, warehouses, office buildings, restaurants, gas stations, and cell towers.

At the Law Firm of Hodges, Broadaway & Bell, John worked with various national title insurance companies to provide full-service title and escrow services to his clients.

A member of the Real Property and Eminent Domain sections of the Georgia Bar Association, John stays current on the issues affecting real estate law in Georgia and is proud to offer experienced title research, title insurance, and escrow services in a personalized, responsive setting.
